This course is particularly aimed at young people in schools. First aid is part of the curriculum for all school-aged children from Year 6 upwards, and covers topics to equip them to deal with an emergency. This course can be covered in 12 x 1hr slots, or as part of an enrichment programme.

First aid training can be incorporated into many areas of the curriculum such as:

• PSHE
• Citizenship
• PE
• Sports Leaders Award
• The Duke of Edinburgh Award

Topics covered include:

• What is first aid?
• Primary survey
• Choking
• Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
• Common injuries
• Recovery position
