This Level 3 Paediatric Blended Learning First Aid course is particularly aimed at colleagues working with children under 18. It is suitable for au pairs, nannies, childminders, nursery and pre-school staff, sport and leisure staff, crèche leaders, parents, and anyone responsible for the welfare of children. This paediatric first aid course is recognised by OFSTED and includes the requirements of the appointed person in the workplace. You can look at the course content here.
Blended Learning
This blended learning course allows for 1 day studying online at your convenience, and the other face to face on the 24th February. This reduces the contact time in class, allowing for more time in the classoom or nursery.
Arrangements
After you have booked, we will send you a link to the online training, which you can start when you are ready. The online learning saves when you log off, so you don’t need to complete it in one go. Please complete the online learning before the face to face day.
There are assessments throughout the online learning to check you have understood, and the practical assessments are done on the face to face day.
Once both the face to face day and online training are successfully complete, your certificate will be sent out by email.
On the day
Please arrive at 9:15 to register and get yourself settled. We will have two short breaks during the day, and a 30min lunch break. Please bring your lunch, although tea and coffee will be provided.
Parking
There is ample parking at Church in the Barn.
FAQ’s
What if I’m injured, or have a medical condition and can’t do all the practical bits?
The hardest bit is the CPR, you have to be able to do CPR on the floor for at least 2mins. It’s hard work, and requires strong wrists and hardy knees. If you can’t do it, we can’t certify that you are able to do first aid. That said, you can still achieve a certificate of attendance, and everything you learn is of benefit to your community. If the injury is temporary (such as a fracture), perhaps postpone the course until you have recovered.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a pen and notebook for notes, lunch and some ID.
Do we get certificates?
Yes. We’ll email the e-certificate once the face to face day is complete, provided you successfully pass both parts of the course.
What happens if I’m running late?
Don’t be, there’s loads of fun bits at the beginning… You have to attend the day to pass, so please make contact as soon as possible if you think you will be late.
Do you provide lunch?
No, you’ll need to bring a packed lunch; you could share Claire’s, but it’s usually a very boring salad.
When do we pay?
You pay when booking online.
What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel after you’ve paid the full amount but with more than 7 days notice, we can either re-book, or give you 50% refund. If it’s within 7 days of the course beginning, then unfortunately we can’t give you a refund at that point. Please see our terms and conditions for more details.
